Some Of The Tuning Worlds More Complicated
And Less Talked About Subjects

The Advanced Tuning Concepts series fills the educational void within the Aftermarket High Performance Tuning Industry! This class will bridge the gap between the aftermarket and the OEM technical arenas. There are a few classes on the market that can teach an individual the fundamental basics of the tuning process or even the diagnostic side. After those classes, the individual had nowhere to turn for understanding of the difficult and more complicated tasks. Until now, that individual had to turn back to the internet or some other form of reference material and try to disseminate between fact and fiction. More often than not the answers that were needed could not be found because no one was teaching the more complicated subject matter. The Advance Tuning Concepts (ATC) series will give the Enthusiast, Automotive Technician and the Professional Tuner the facts that he or she needs to complete the job correctly the first time!
For years a wall that divides the aftermarket and OEM technicians has stood tall. We are here to see that wall come down. Our classes are aimed at the dealer tech that always wanted to know more about the aftermarket and the performance guy who wanted to have a better technical understanding.
The Advanced Tuning Concepts classes give a "hands-on" approach to teaching the more difficult concepts related to the tuning industry. Throughout our years in the industry, we have found that most individuals learn better by doing and seeing more than just reading or talking about the subject matter alone. EFI Tuning Technologies takes this approach to educating our students. The Advanced Tuning Concepts classes will be visually intensive! Multiple projection screens, lots of live demonstrations, and real-time in class ECU simulation will give our students the maximum exposure to these Tuning Technologies! Because seeing is believing and learning!

Advanced Tuning Concepts I - The first class of this exciting new series will center around setting-up an aftermarket ECU from the ground up! The student will be taught how to calibrate the engine's sensors, fill in all of the important set-up table parameters. This will also include base table number implementation, the proper parameter set-up of the Crank and Cam sensor values and filter tables.
The fundamentals of what an Oscilloscope is and its importance to us will be discussed. The terminology, operation and proper waveform data interpretation for proper sensor set-up will be covered. You will see how important an Oscilloscope is for proper ECU set-up and diagnosis of common problems! We will show you many diagnostic procedures that can be done with a proper understanding of the Oscilloscope. Live Oscilloscope operation demonstrations throughout the course will make this subject matter easily understandable.
As you progress through your nearly 100 page thick full color workbook, we will cover Ignition Systems. The Ignition System discussion will revolve around component terminology, available time in cycle vs. actual coil output along with finding how long to charge the coils with a live demonstration of coil dwell mapping. We will then discuss Capacitive Discharge Ignitions and other relevant ignition system topics.
You will get to see, hear, and put your hands on all of this and much, much more!
A full List of class topics can be found here in the class outline!
Each student will receive his/her own full color workbook. The workbook is for the student to keep along with the supplied pen and calculator. Lunch is provided on the first day as well as refreshments throughout the class. This class will include multiple projection screens, real-time oscilloscope operation, ECU simulation, and lots of live demonstrations.
